Purpose of the Act

To provide for setting out the practical regime of “right to information” for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

“Right to Information” means:

"right to information" means the right to information accessible under this Act which is held by or under the control of any public authority and includes the right to — (i) inspection of work, documents, records; (ii) taking notes, extracts or certified copies of documents or records; (iii) taking certified samples of material; (iv) obtaining information in the form of diskettes, floppies, tapes, video cassettes or in any other electronic mode or through printouts where such information is stored in a computer or in any other device;

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur (IIITN) is one of the 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology established under the Public-Private Partnership Scheme by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

IIITN has been declared as an “ An Institutions of National Importance” under the provisions of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017.

The Senate is the Principal Academic Body of the Institute.

The Building Works Committee deals with the matters related to the construction of the Permanent Campus of the Institute.

Stores & Purchase Committee

The Stores & Purchase Committee deals with the procurement matters of the Institute.

The Grievance Committee deals with the grievance related matters.

Grievance Committee SC/ST Cell

The Grievance Committee (SC/ST Cell) deals with the grievance related matters pertaining to SC/ST Students/Faculties/Staff.
